Ho Chi Minh “Trail”

NOW OPEN

What’s more San Diegan than a hike that at ends at the beach? A hike that ends at a NUDE beach! Can’t say you weren’t warned now 😉

I call this a “trail” because it’s not maintained at all. Recently it’s become extremely overgrown and at times feels like you’re walking through a jungle.

Because it’s so overgrown, this trail has become increasingly difficult over the years. Majority of this trail is wide enough for only one person to walk through. Not to mention the sandy bluffs make it very slippery.

A wrong step can cause some serious damage. This hike is not for a beginner or a tourist.

If you’re up for the challenge, you’ll definitely be rewarded with some spectacular views. Gotta earn your beer at the end of this hike!

Here are the deets-

  • Trail head: 9883 La Jolla Farms Rd
  • Distance: 1 mile round trip
  • Dog Friendly: No
  • Parking: On the street

The way there is all downhill. You’ll walk across a wood plank, through some sand canyons, and the last step is to use a rope to descend down to the beach.

Tip: If you would like to enjoy the beach without the nudists, take a left when you reach the beach. You’ll eventually reach the Mushroom House ?

  1. Wow! Great tips. I decided to try out this hike myself last week and let me just say, you weren’t joking about the treachery! Still a worthwhile hike with great views of Black’s Beach below. A true paradise for nudists and clothing wearers alike!
